Training program on coral bleaching and reef monitoring protocol
Training sessions on coral bleaching and reef monitoring protocol, was undertaken by Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for Baa Atoll Biosphere Reserve Office (BROFFICE) staff from 10 to 11 March 2016 in Eydhafushi. The two day training program which consisted both theory and practical was attended by staff from BR Office including Rangers, Conservation and Outreach Officers.
Students from Haa Dhaal Atoll Nellaidhoo visits Baa Atoll
Students studying at Haa Dhaalu Atoll Nellaidhoo School Year 12 visited Baa Atoll Biosphere Reserve Office on 16 February 2016. The main purpose of the study tour undertaken by the students to Baa Atoll was to gather information on environment of Baa Atoll and in this regard the students visited Baa Atoll Biosphere Reserve and gained first hand information about the reserve and how work was undertaken at the Office.
As part of the Study Tour the students also visited Baa Atoll Education Center, the government instututions in Eydhafushi and the students also had meetings with the government, public and private companies.
The 8 students who undertook the tour to Baa Atoll were accompanied by the Head of Haa Dhaal Atoll Nellaidhoo School.
